MASTERMIND TOURNAMENT

At The George Pub Sept - Dec 2007

I have now decided the format of the individual Mastermind competition that will be running concurrently with the George Quiz every Sunday from September 16th until 16th December.

Each week, two contestants will each have two minutes to answer questions on their specialist subject. Their scores and the number of passes will be noted, and the top four contestants will be invited to the Grand Final at The George on Sunday 16th December. They will each be given another two minutes of questions on a second specialist subject, followed by two minutes of general knowledge questions to decide the winner.

I haven't discussed a prize as yet with the management at The George, but i think the winners of the Champion's League, held earlier this year will agree, that the prize of a Winners Party of free food and booze was very generous. So we will hope to offer something equally tempting.

So any individual from any team can enter, and different individuals from the same quiz team can also enter - it is not just one person per team!!!!! To enter, firstly think of a specialist subject, then go to http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=4824172861&topic=2932 and let me know your name and chosen subject. If the subject is deemed suitable, then i'll give you a date when you will have your two minutes of questions (if you can't make it on that day, then i'm sure we can sort something out...).

There are approximately 12 weeks from 16th September to 16th December, so we can have a maximum of 24 contestants. Therefore it has to be first-come-first-served; three places have been taken already, so think carefully about your specialist subject, then sign up for the competition....
